Research on introduction of a new model for service development (MTU) in the police.
The Norwegian Police Directorate announces a competition for a research assignment in connection with the introduction of a new model for service development (MTU) in the police force. The model for service development involves new ways of working for the entire organisation. The implementation will involve changes in work forms, interaction, management and decision making. To ensure learning, quality and adjustment during the process, before new practices are allowed to join the organisation, the National Police Agency wants a research environment to carry out action research, or other type of follow-up research where researchers collaborate closely with the business, parallel to the implementation. The assignment shall support a structured and systematic learning process. The overall objective of the assignment is to support the implementation of the model through continual learning and to create an understanding of any change needs. The research shall contribute to concretising the goal achievement of the MTU and giving an independent assessment of whether this strengthens the police ́s ability to solve the social mission. Preventive conversations as a means of the police ́s preventive work.
The police have over time developed different forms of conversations as part of their preventive work. Despite preventive conversations being used as an established method in preventive policing, there is little research based knowledge on these conversations as a means of policy. Research on how the conversations are practised and what consequences they have is important for police practice in the area to be knowledge-based. The aim of the assignment is to obtain research-based knowledge on how different conversations with crime prevention purposes are practised, whether they are used in accordance with the intention, and whether the conversations work according to the purpose. The assignment includes both worry calls as pursuant to the Police Act § 13 and other voluntary conversations with preventive purposes that are carried out by the police. Evaluation of the police's national efforts against criminal networks.
The Norwegian Police Directorate would like an evaluation of the police ́s national efforts against criminal networks. The aim of the assignment is to provide the police with a research based knowledge basis for the further development of the police ́s national efforts against criminal networks. The assignment shall evaluate the organisation of the national effort and particularly highlight how the organisation of the KN effort functions in practice, and what results it produces, as well as how cooperation, use of measures and effects can be strengthened. NSIC funding will enable companies to further develop their products, reducing future technical risk and time to market and increasing prospects for private investment. NSIC provides funds to hardware startups which have achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or higher.
Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. § 4022 (2022) (previously 10 U.S.C 2371b), NSIC seeks to award Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) to early-stage technology startups at various stages of prototype development. The products which eventually result from awarded agreements will be valuable in commercial markets as well as in defense applications, enhancing the future mission effectiveness of military personnel and the supporting platforms, systems, components, or materials proposed to be acquired or developed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
