The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Land and Integrated Force Division, is part of the Australian Department of Defence and provides science and technology support to Australia's defence and national security priorities. One of Defence's priority capability areas is littoral manoeuvre, with ship-to-shore connectivity, or lighterage, identified as an area requiring innovation and capability development. DSTG is seeking to engage with Industry and Academia to better understand existing and emerging technologies that may contribute to future Defence lighterage capabilities. For the purposes of this RFI, the term lighterage solution is intentionally broad and includes any concept capable of delivering the required wet gap crossing effect. Research on introduction of a new model for service development (MTU) in the police.
The Norwegian Police Directorate announces a competition for a research assignment in connection with the introduction of a new model for service development (MTU) in the police force. The model for service development involves new ways of working for the entire organisation. The implementation will involve changes in work forms, interaction, management and decision making. To ensure learning, quality and adjustment during the process, before new practices are allowed to join the organisation, the National Police Agency wants a research environment to carry out action research, or other type of follow-up research where researchers collaborate closely with the business, parallel to the implementation. The assignment shall support a structured and systematic learning process. The overall objective of the assignment is to support the implementation of the model through continual learning and to create an understanding of any change needs. The research shall contribute to concretising the goal achievement of the MTU and giving an independent assessment of whether this strengthens the police ́s ability to solve the social mission. Preventive conversations as a means of the police ́s preventive work.
The police have over time developed different forms of conversations as part of their preventive work. Despite preventive conversations being used as an established method in preventive policing, there is little research based knowledge on these conversations as a means of policy. Research on how the conversations are practised and what consequences they have is important for police practice in the area to be knowledge-based. The aim of the assignment is to obtain research-based knowledge on how different conversations with crime prevention purposes are practised, whether they are used in accordance with the intention, and whether the conversations work according to the purpose. The assignment includes both worry calls as pursuant to the Police Act § 13 and other voluntary conversations with preventive purposes that are carried out by the police. This is an Open ARA announcement pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. §4023 (formerly 10 U.S.C. §2373).
