T1414 aims to demonstrate the effective use of Solar Reflective Solutions to reduce internal vehicle temperatures, supporting improved passenger comfort, reduced HVAC energy consumption demand and improved component reliability for GB passenger rolling stock. Work Package 1- Benchmarking and trial planning β€’ Assess the current performance of existing rolling stock paint systems to establish a baseline against which the potential benefit and disbenefits of adopting solar reflective alternatives can be determined. β€’ Identify and select SRSs which meet GB passenger rolling stock requirements to ensure the SRSs trialled meet technical, safety, and operational material requirements. β€’ Develop a test plan for a box trial, representative of a rail vehicle, to assess the effect that SRSs would have on internal rail vehicle temperature. Work Package 2 - Box trials β€’ Undertake box trials2, representative of a rail vehicle, as per the test plan produced in WP1, to gather data on the solar, thermal and operational environment performance of SRSs. β€’Analyse the data gathered from the box trials to enable cost-benefit analysis of the material systems and mitigate potential risk/unsuitable candidates. Work Package 3 - Business case for SRS adoption β€’ Produce an initial business case for the use of SRSs on GB passenger rolling stock based on WP2. Work Package 4 - Planning next steps - This will only be undertaken if business case in WP3 is positive β€’ Identify the questions (including technica...

The overarching methodological requirement is to prepare a Viability Assessment for the Strategic and Local Plan. Suppliers are invited to indicate how they would do this in a manner consistent with the requirements and guidance prescribed by National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and published government guidance (PPG)and the required study outputs outlined below, in the most cost-effective and time-efficient way, whilst maintaining high quality standards and robustness. Should national policies and guidance pertaining to the preparation of Viability Assessments of local plans be issued or altered during preparation of the Final Report, and/or any pertinent comments are made by Local Plan inspectors in respect to the methodology and scope of Viability Assessments, it is expected that the study will be updated to reflect any revised requirements, in discussion with the Authorities. The Supplier should also recommend additional/revised stages to, and/or outputs from, the project where appropriate. The contract period is for 35 months from commencement of the project and the Final Report is required to be delivered to the satisfaction of the Authorities within the first 5 months. Extensions to this period will be considered where clear justification exists, subject to the agreement of the Authorities.

The aim of the research is to arrive at a framework of the effects of inundation, which can be used to predict under which circumstances and for which nature types eutrophication as a result of inundation plays a role. The effect of inundations on nature is stated central, where quantifying relevant processes, transport routes and possible measures form the most important pillars. Literature research forms the basis for the preliminary advice, which includes both scientific literature and gray literature literature is considered with specific attention to the many field studies and experiments conducted (for example Smalbroeken, along the Vecht and in the Drentse Aa).

This research aims to map the quality of the agricultural landscape for wintering field birds. The study focuses on 3 types of habitats/measures: 1. A large part of the fields are now covered with green manures. These are interesting because there is a large variation in composition (monocultures/mixes) and management (early/late sowing, under-working/leaving over the winter). We do not really know to what extent wintering field birds use green manures, and what green manures whether or not it is attractive to field birds; 2. The most important question with grain stubble is how much food can be found there for seed eaters during the winter; 3. Winter food plots are a specific measure for wintering animals field birds from the Agricultural Nature and Landscape Management (ANLb). The question here is how long this measure will provide food for wintering field birds and which landscape configuration will yield the best results.
