Register by 23 January to the knut.simensen@miljodir.no The Norwegian Environment Agency develops guidelines for the use of project based nature accounts and requests dialogues with actors with relevant experience and competence. We invite tenderers to an initial dialogue meeting on our work and what we need. Why is this important? Project based nature accounts are accounts/budgets for the impact of individual development projects and can become a central tool for taking care of nature. There is currently not a standardised method that is adapted to Norwegian nature and Norwegian review requirements that work across different social sectors. However, there are different methods for keeping accounts/budgets in connection with development projects, and several actors are now working on the development of methodology for an industry or type of development. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has asked the Norwegian Environment Agency to guide and facilitate the use of project based natural accounts. We would now like to involve actors with experience or relevant competence with the preparation of different varieties of natural accounts, in the development of guidance for project based nature accounts. The objective of the meeting: The aim of the dialogue meeting is to give you information on the Norwegian Environment Agency's work on nature accounts, and get input from the in...

DMARINE - eDNA Arctica
The Offshore Wind Directorate requires a suitable supplier to develop and validate a quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assay and analyse benthic sediment samples, collected by the Marine Directorate, for presence of ocean quahog (Arctica islandica).Ocean quahog is a Priority Marine Feature (PMF) in Scottish waters, on the OSPAR List of Threatened and/or Declining Species & Habitats and a Protected Feature in some Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). Some activities associated with Marine Renewable (MR) developments may interact with this species. Cost-effective tools, which can be utilized as part of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) to reliably determine presence of ocean quahog are needed to mitigate the potential impact of MR developments in the marine environment. This tender will contribute to our understanding of effectiveness of the environmental DNA (eDNA)-based approach to monitor the presence of ocean quahog in sediment samples and whether this monitoring approach could be employed as a robust and reliable tool for use in EIAs.
