The respiratory protective devices currently in use were purchased between 2005 and 2012 and have significantly exceeded the manufacturer's recommended service life of approximately ten years. Production of these devices stopped in 2020, one Spare parts supply is only guaranteed until Q2/2026. Due to its age and intensive use, there is currently an increased need for testing and replacement parts. The required number of respiratory protective devices and accessories is given by: the currently valid approval notices, the normative requirements for vehicle loading, the mandatory practical exercises as well as the need for exchange and training equipment to ensure operational readiness at all times.
