The intent of this sources sought is to access industry's small business concerns including 8(a) companies with an SBA approved office, Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUB Zone) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and all small businesses under the size standard, capability and interest in performing a dredging within Hague Basin, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), New York, Federal Navigation Project
The New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) proposes to perform maintenance dredging of portions of the Hague Basin, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), New York, Federal Navigation Project. The dredged material would be processed and subsequently transported to and placed at a contractor-furnished, State permitted upland placement site(s). The proposed maintenance dredging would remove approximately 51,640 cubic yards (CY) of critical shoals from Hague Basin, USMMA. Approximately 9,375 CY of material would be dredged to a depth of 15 feet below MLLW with 2 feet overdepth dredging from Area 1 and approximately 42,265 cubic yards (CY) of material would be dredged to a depth of 12 feet below Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) with 2 feet overdepth dredging from Area 2 for a total of 4.35 acres. The dredged material is expected to consist primarily of silt and clay.
Due to anticipated restrictions found in the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Water Quality Certificate, the proposed work can only be performed by utilizing a mechanical dredge with a closed clamshell environmental bucket.
